Hours : 8 : 00 - 5 : 00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Medical Assistant will assist in a clinical setting as a paraprofessional providing services to clients. The MA will maintain supplies and complete clerical tasks. The Medical Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse when carrying out clinical duties.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Vital signs
  • Patient history intake
  • Procedures such as immunizations and EKGs
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Cleaning and stocking rooms
  • Order labs
  • Administer medications (nebulizer, Rocephin, Tylenol / Motrin

Education / Experience : An associates degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited program. One to two years of experience working in a family medicine setting.

License : Current licensure to practice as an RMA / CMA. Current CPR certification.

Knowledge. Skills & Abilities :

  • General knowledge of clinic procedures, vital signs, and procedures
  • Knowledge of basic public health care programs, policies, basic physical and behavioral health problems
  • Possess ability to move patients about and perform health care work in a clinic setting
  • Ability to practice proper sanitation and adhere to OSHA practices / techniques
  • Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility, and seek appropriate assistance from a supervisor, nurse and / or provider
