Job Description

Hours : 8 : 00 - 5 : 00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Medical Assistant will assist in a clinical setting as a paraprofessional providing services to clients. The MA will maintain supplies and complete clerical tasks. The Medical Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse when carrying out clinical duties.

Primary Responsibilities :

Vital signs
Patient history intake
Procedures such as immunizations and EKGs
Appointment scheduling
Cleaning and stocking rooms
Order labs
Administer medications (nebulizer, Rocephin, Tylenol / Motrin

Education / Experience : An associates degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited program. One to two years of experience working in a family medicine setting.

License : Current licensure to practice as an RMA / CMA. Current CPR certification.

Knowledge. Skills & Abilities :

General knowledge of clinic procedures, vital signs, and procedures

Knowledge of basic public health care programs, policies, basic physical and behavioral health problems

Possess ability to move patients about and perform health care work in a clinic setting

Ability to practice proper sanitation and adhere to OSHA practices / techniques

Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility, and seek appropriate assistance from a supervisor, nurse and / or provider
