Position Overview

Vital Tech Solutions is seeking a Senior Application Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional technology initiatives for a top client in the Lansing, MI area. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as a foundational understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will bring experience managing large-scale projects with multiple workstreams, vendor involvement, and high visibility across business and technical teams. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and accountability for high-impact IT initiatives
• Lead project planning, resource allocation, scope definition, and milestone tracking
• Maintain clear and proactive communication with executive stakeholders and project sponsors
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues to ensure smooth project execution
• Oversee vendor deliverables, contract performance, and cross-team coordination
• Guide long-term release and resource planning in alignment with business goals
• Ensure consistent documentation and reporting across all phases of the project lifecycle
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to evaluate technical requirements and ensure integration across systems
• Support process improvement and best practices adoption within the project management team

Requirements

5+ years of experience leading complex IT projects with 20+ team members Demonstrated experience with full project lifecycle delivery, including budget and schedule management Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, load balancers, servers, storage, networks, and cloud environments) Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project) Excellent communication and presentation skills, including reporting to senior leadership Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and cross-functional collaboration Experience applying both Agile and traditional project management methodologies Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills Vital Tech Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action employer.
