We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer / Principal with 10+ years of professional experience to join an architecture and design practice in the Grand Rapids, MI area . Key Responsibilities

Lead the design process—from concept through construction—across a variety of project types (Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare, Workplace, Civic).

Serve as a design leader and trusted advisor to clients, ensuring their goals are exceeded through creative and functional solutions.

Collaborate closely with principals, architects, and consultants to deliver integrated, award-winning projects.

Mentor and guide junior and mid-level interior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence.

Manage client relationships, business development initiatives, and contribute to the strategic growth of the interiors practice.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive interior design experience , with proven leadership responsibility.

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field .

Proficiency in Revit required; experience with additional design software (Enscape, SketchUp, Adobe Suite) a plus.

Strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership on complex, high-profile projects.

Exceptional client relationship skills and proven business development ability.

NCIDQ certification and / or professional licensure preferred.

Compensation

S alary range (realistic and conservative) : $85,000 – $120,000 per year , depending on experience, qualifications, and added responsibilities.
