- Project Management and Execution
Lead and support conceptual planning studies as a Planning Phase Manager
Manage project schedule, scope, and feeManage quality assurance and risk managementFacilitate workshops with clientsMentor junior staff and coordinate with WI-MAP staff at different office locationsCoordinate with regional team client service managers and project managersCoordinate with Water Design Center personnel through design phases of projectsBusiness Development SupportSupport business development activities, such as client-specific presentations
Support proposal development effortsSupport scope, fee, and contract development servicesParticipate in professional organization activities, including committees and conferencesPeriodic travel will be required on an as-needed basis for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties.
Qualified candidates must be capable of performing the following routine functions :
Display technical competency of water / wastewater engineering and civil engineeringDevelop and manage detailed project delivery of water infrastructure planning and modeling-related projects, including scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimatesManage scope, budget, and schedule for a team of WI-MAP personnel in the execution of Water Business Line projectsManage multiple projects concurrentlyBe responsible for time management and work product qualityKeep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projectsConduct written and oral project reporting for regional team client service managers, the WI-MAP team leader, and clients, as necessary. Reporting will include project status, upcoming milestones, project accounting, percent completes, progress reports, etc.Prepare and execute Project Management Plans and Quality Control PlansLead internal and external project workshopsRequirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited programFive or more years of technical experience in water and wastewater with no less than two years of experience in master planning for water and / or wastewater infrastructureSignificant experience in execution of master planning projects and development of capital improvement programsRegistered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to become registered within six months of start of employmentExperience with hydraulic modeling software (, Bentley WaterGEMS, Bentley SewerGEMS, Innoyvze InfoWater, Innovyze InfoWorks ICM)Strong communication skillsPreferred Skills
Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited programExperience leading water supply, water distribution, wastewater collection system, and / or integrated water master planning projects and development of capital improvement programsExperience with asset management programs for buried, linear water and / or wastewater system assets.Experience with rate studies and impact fee assessmentsExperience with water supply planning, water rights permitting, water conservation plans, and drought contingency plansExperience with use of geographical information systems (GIS) for data handling, processing, analysis, and results presentation.Grow With Us
