SUMMARY
The Industrial Engineering Technician reports directly to Manager, Industrial Engineering and indirectly to the Plant Manager. The incumbent will be accountable for providing technical support to the manufacturing facility and processes. The Industrial Engineering Technician will be accountable for improvement of production and training processes, and support equipment upgrade and reliability aspects to achieve high quality throughput. This position will work with entire operations organization which includes Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, etc.The Industrial Engineering Technician will champion and support advancement of Mattr Lean program throughout the organization specifically for completion of continuous improvement projects. Facilitate root cause analyses through A3 with Lean and Six Sigma tools to understand complex processes issues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
Support development and standardization of manufacturing processes including creation / updates to SOPs, supporting new process roll outs and trainingSupport process continuous improvement initiatives through analysis of process parameters like downtime, efficiency, first time quality, and material variance using different lean tools like Gemba, Spaghetti Diagram, Value Stream Mapping, etc.Provide hands on support on process troubleshooting and process improvement while maintaining quality and product standardsLead process mapping exercises to understand current situation of work area or value-streamLead cross-functional teams of Operators, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain,Quality, and shared services to bring improvement to process flowProvide technical support to Process, Product and Engineering Groups for new product development and equipment design to ensure that equipment meets performance specificationsReview and validate training and maintenance programs for new equipment or processesSupport troubleshooting of the manufacturing processes and equipmentPROJECT MANAGEMENT
Support and run projects related to operations, propose performance and cost justification for projectsSupport plant equipment improvements from the preparation of AFEs and execution plans through installation, commissioning, and rolloutFollow Project Management and EDCM processes to manage all projectsLEAN PROGRAM
Support execution of the continuous improvement initiatives & projectsParticipate in Lean Enterprise and corporate optimization programs as requiredSupport Best in Class (BIC) and Lean best practicesSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Mechanical and / or Industrial Engineering experiencesExperience in manufacturing environmentExcellent mechanical aptitude and hands on attitudeDemonstrated ability to achieve measurable results in a cross-functional work environmentExcellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making and organizationProficient problem-solving abilityStrong independent work ethicGood computer literacy over a broad range of applications including MS Office suiteCandidates with exposure to plastic / composite production and with industrial background will be preferredTraining and experience in Lean / Six Sigma preferred (SPC, A3 Problem Solving, FMEA, 5S, DMP)Must have excellent communication skills (written / verbal)Proven leadership skills and strong process knowledgeWORK EXPERIENCE
