Manager, Supplier Quality Engineering

Purpose of Position

We are seeking a leader of our Supplier Quality Engineering team. This person leads the team in their priorities, actions and performance to deliver improve supplier quality to our production sites. Moreover, this leader manages the performance of their team and successful integration of their team with other partners on site and supplier partners off site.

Key Responsibilities

Improve Supplier Quality : Develop and implement a comprehensive improvement strategy with suppliers to reduce defects in purchase material.

Manage Team Performance : Led team as a high performing organization that consistently improved on key performance indicators using VBS (Vontier Business System- Lean tools) as the backbone for a culture of improvement. Develop team in skills and ability both technical and leadership skills.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other internal teams to ensure alignment of effort, and corporation to meet operational needs and business objectives.

Risk Management : Identify potential quality risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply including working with suppliers on quality and process development

Continuous Improvement : Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the team to enhance transaction efficient, work and process management and moving quality error detection to be more proactive.

Education : Bachelor's degree in technical field (engineering preferred)

Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality or supplier quality engineering position preferably within the mechanical or manufacturing industry.

Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic components and the processes used to manufacture these components.

Analytical Skills : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Ability to make complex simple and communicate same.

Negotiation Skills : Proven track record of successful convincing a business partner or supplier to take or stop taking an action. Ability to drive change, sometimes immediate, in suppliers to countermeasure critical issues.

Communication : Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Global Perspective : Experience working in a global environment with an understanding of different cultural and business practices.

Travel : Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Relationships

This position will report directly to the Director Supply Chain, Greensboro. will collaborate closely with the following teams :

Engineering Team : Regular interaction with the engineering team to understand technical specifications and requirements for all parts purchased at site. These engineering teams could be based at many sites across the GVR organization.

Manufacturing Team : Close collaboration with the manufacturing team to ensure that the supplier quality processes and transactions aligns with production schedules and quality standards. A close interaction and partnership is critical for this leader and the site quality, materials and operations leaders

Quality Assurance Team : Working with the quality assurance team to ensure that all components meet the required standards and certifications. This includes supplier quality teams at other GVR sites.

External Relationships : key suppliers and vendors, including supplier audits, supplier quality reviews, quarterly business reviews.
