Description
The Hennepin County Public Health Clinic is looking to hire a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This position with the Red Door Clinic will primarily provide sexual health care services including comprehensive HIV / sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment services, family planning, and HIV prevention services within a multidisciplinary team of medical providers. This position will also cross-train to our tuberculosis (TB) care and treatment, refugee health screening, and suboxone / harm reduction programs, such as Medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), as warranted by clinic volume and utilization. Our team consists of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistants, and community health specialists.

Salary will be based upon qualifications :
Nurse Practitioner $74,001.80 - $155,003.15 Annually
Physician Assistant $101,330.30 - $155,003.15 Annually
Location and hours :
This position is located at the Public Health Clinic, 525 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55415. The Public Health Clinic is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with evening expansion when the clinic resumes evening hours. This position will work 40 hours per week from 8 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m., which will include one evening shift from 11 a.m. - 7 : 30 p.m. No weekend, overnight or holiday shifts are required.

In the Nurse Practitioner position, you will :
- Provide HIV prevention and sexual health care services including HIV testing, STI testing and treatment, family planning, PrEP, and PEP.
- Provide MOUD (medications for opioid use disorder) through office-based buprenorphine therapy, conducting initial assessments and follow-up evaluations.
- Conduct refugee health screening exams, including health history, physical examination, and preventive screening of newly arrived refugees to identify acute and chronic health problems as well as identify public health risks.
- Evaluate and treat patients with active and latent tuberculosis, including medication management.
- Perform lab work as indicated, including gram stains, wet preps, and other labs in CLIA certified on-site lab under direction of lab technician specialist.
- Provide health education, harm reduction counseling, consultation, and referrals based on patient needs.
- Work with a diverse, interdisciplinary team to deliver health services, develop team goals, performance outcomes, and effective referral coordination.
- Provide supervision or lead work direction to professional and / or support staff, including other nurse practitioners.
In the Physician Assistant position, you will :

For hire as a Nurse Practitioner, one of the following : Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the State of Minnesota and National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (CNP).Possession of a valid license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) issued by the State of Minnesota.National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)For hire as a Physician Assistant : Graduation from an accredited physician assistant (PA) program.Certification or eligibility for certification from the State of Minnesota as a Physician Assistant. Must also complete the Delegation Agreement and Notice of Intent to Practice as required by the MN Board of Medical Practice.Nice to have :
