Our Assistant Facilities Manager position provides an opportunity to work in a mission driven organization where your continuous work efforts are contributing to the greater good of the community. In this position, an individual will use their knowledge of repairs and maintenance to keep HOSWWA properties in good condition and ensure that our clients have a good place to live and grow. At Housing Opportunities of SW Washington (HOSWWA) we work closely with local government and community partners throughout Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Lewis, and Pacific counties to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and to help families break the cycle of poverty. We provide affordable housing and housing assistance to low-income residents within our service area. The Assistant Facilities Manager provides service to the agency by supporting the Facilities Manager in maintaining and managing the Maintenance Department. Work may be performed anywhere within the HOSWWA service area. This is a "working" position and requires the candidate to perform maintenance duties.

Your Skills and Experience Will Support Our Mission As You :

• Assist the Facilities Manager in planning budgets and scheduling facility modifications, including cost estimates.
• Monitor and inspect work progress of personnel and contractors and suggesting corrective action when required.
• Assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of those in the department in accordance with company policies and directives; assists in performance evaluations on employees.
• Inspect construction and rehab projects.
• Assist in managing preventative maintenance of facilities.
• Assist in initiating planned maintenance programs for properties.
• Maintain compliance with onsite safety program.
• Inspect properties to ensure the highest standards are maintained; evaluate maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping operations in areas of efficiency.
• Conduct periodic inspections of vacant apartments for market ready condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Associate degree preferred. Five years of construction / maintenance experience; Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Ability to train, coordinate and motivate team members. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to estimate material and labor cost and perform work independently. Ability to delegate.
