Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Technician with a strong background in environmental or manufacturing control systems operations. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on experience with PLC programming and utilization, environmental system operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role will support operations by ensuring environmental compliance, maintaining critical systems, and monitoring performance to meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot environmental and manufacturing control systems
Perform routine maintenance , calibration, and repairs on environmental control equipment
Conduct water and air sampling , analyze results, and take corrective action when necessary.
Manage environmental permit compliance activities , including recordkeeping, inspections, and reporting to regulatory agencies.
Generate and maintain permit-required system operation and maintenance logs .
Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems that support environmental control processes.
Assist in system upgrades, modifications, and testing for improved operational performance.
Respond to system alarms, diagnose operational issues, and implement corrective actions.
Support facility audits and inspections by providing documentation and technical expertise.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum 3–5 years of operational experience with environmental control systems or manufacturing process controls.
Valid Driver's License
Technical Skills :
PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley or similar systems preferred)
Diagnostic and repair skills
Plumbing, water treatment, and piping system maintenance
Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities
Compliance Knowledge : Familiarity with EPA, state, and local environmental regulations regarding emissions, wastewater, and air quality.
Certifications (preferred but not required) :
Water / Wastewater Treatment License
OSHA safety training certification
Education : Associate’s degree in Environmental Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements :
This position may require lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
May require overtime or on-call availability to respond to system issues.
Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
