Position Title : Senior Snowflake Database Administrator

Location : Jersey City, NJ / Houston, TX / Woodland Hills CA.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for 8+ years of administrator experience in Snowflake / PostgreSQL / Cassandra Databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Snowflake data warehouse environment. You will provide 24 / 7 production support, troubleshoot issues, monitor system health, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a reliable and efficient Snowflake platform.

Technical Skills :

  • Proven experience as a Snowflake / PostgreSQL / Cassandra Databases Administrator or similar role in production support environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices.
  • Expertise in SQL and performance tuning of complex queries.
  • Experience with Snowflake data sharing, cloning, time travel, and zero-copy cloning.
  • Familiarity with data security concepts and role-based access control in Snowflake.
  • Understanding of ETL / ELT tools and data integration patterns.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Snowflake native monitoring, third-party tools).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work in a 24 / 7 support rotation and handle urgent production issues.
  • In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Experience with database design, modeling, and optimization is good to have
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and developing stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with data security is the best practice and backup procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Production Support & Incident Management :
  • Provide timely support for Snowflake-related incidents and service requests. Monitor alerts, investigate root causes, and resolve issues to minimize downtime.

  • Performance Monitoring & Tuning :
  • Monitor Snowflake workloads, query performance, and resource utilization. Implement optimization techniques such as query tuning, warehouse resizing, and clustering to enhance efficiency.

  • Data Security & Compliance :
  • Manage access controls, roles, and permissions in Snowflake. Ensure data security policies and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) are adhered to.

  • Backup & Recovery :
  • Develop and maintain data backup, restore, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Collaboration & Documentation :
  • Work closely with data engineers, developers, and business users to understand requirements and support data workflows. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and runbooks for operational procedures.

  • Automation & Process Improvement :
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to improve deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.

  • Capacity Planning :
  • Analyze trends in data growth and resource usage to forecast and plan capacity needs.

    Qualification :

  • Somebody who has at least 8+ years of experience in Snowflake / PostgreSQL / Cassandra Databases Administrator.
  • Education qualification : Any degree from a reputed college
