Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student for the Boys and Girls Club of Lanier. This position will provide leadership and direction in identifying and creating opportunities to build public awareness of Club services, programs, and activities. Works closely with the Director of Development and Resource Development to plan and coordinate special events and volunteer efforts that meet program or fundraising goals. Evaluates and reports results with recommendations for modifying events to improve success.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of special events, working with Club staff and volunteers to coordinate activities and facilitate communications.
  • Negotiate with vendors and sponsors to obtain space, refreshments / catering, audio-visual needs, event journals, and all other related materials and resources that ensure event success.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to have flexible schedule, Monday - Friday.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer Public Relations, Marketing, Business majors or related discipline.
