Job Title : MAT Assistant Coordinator

Reports to : Deputy Director of Operations

Schedule : Monday to Friday-40 hr workweek

Job Summary :

This is a blended position where the Coordinator will manage MAT activities as well as aspects of Value Based Care. The Medically Assisted Treatment Assistant Coordinator's primary responsibility is to support the MAT program and care team members while building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with patients. The MAT Assistant Coordinator performs a variety of organizational tasks between all sites at MCHC to keep everyone involved informed and compliant with current regulations. The MAT Assistant Coordinator contributes to the overall success of the MAT program to help members of the community become successful in their treatment.

The Value Based Care Coordinator's role will be to assist with the implementation of value based care-related programs and associated performance management. This includes the direction, coordination, and evaluation of accountable- and / or value-based care programs, participation in strategic planning, development of related value-based care programs, and assistance with incorporating activities that will help build the value-based care program throughout the organization. Patient outreach is a major component of this position.

Job Qualifications

Experience :

  • Two (2) years' experience as a Medical Assistant or related role.
  • Experience working with Addiction Treatment preferred

Language :

  • Bilingual : English / Spanish, preferred.
  • Additional Requirements / Licenses / Certifications :

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Travel : Frequent local travel within Utah County with occasional long-distance travel, as required.

    DESCRIPTION

    The MAT Assistant Coordinator has the responsibility to coordinate patient care activities by scheduling appointments, coordinating Behavioral Health Therapy, field crisis calls to on-call provider or to MAT Coordinator, and ensure patients are receiving and taking their prescriptions as prescribed.

    Responsibility to act as a Liaison between county, state, and private programs such as Foothill and Wasatch Behavioral Health.

    Responsibility to monitor the MAT logs and Athena reports to ensure they are up to date and accurate. This will include assisting in reporting accurate numbers to the Director of Operations for reporting purposes.

    Visit each site that provides MAT services monthly to ensure accurate logs and medication counts and supplies. This includes ordering medications and MAT supplies such as urine toxicity drug screen cups, breathalyzer tubes, and Narcan kits.

    Review and update MAT policies and procedures along with the MAT Supervisor and Director of Operations. Communicate the changes and ensure procedure coherence among all sites and staff.

    Conduct monthly MAT meetings by creating an agenda and addressing any current changes in regulations, procedures, patient statuses, new expectations, reviewing MAT numbers, and more as needed.

    Meet with MAT champions on a regular basis to ensure they are following procedures and address any questions or concerns they may have. Meet with MAT Coordinator and Director of Operations at least monthly to clarify any questions and to update them on the program.

    Communicate with patients and patient family members or friends during office hours, as needed, to ensure they are receiving the support they need to be successful in the program. Uses motivational interviewing to support the patients in needs MCHC can provide.

    Keep MAT providers informed of any communications with patients through verbal conversation or patient cases. It is imperative that the MAT Assistant Coordinator acts as a member of the care team by having excellent communication with anyone involved in the patient care.

    Performs other duties as assigned. Required

    This job is performed in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses medical equipment related to their specialty (medical supplies such as injections, etc), as well as standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
