Our client, a prestigious Amlaw 50 firm, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their high-performing Energy and Infrastructure Practice and specialize in power purchase agreements (PPAs) . This position is open to multiple offices in the US and focuses on cutting-edge energy offtake work across renewables, energy storage, and emerging technologies.
Candidate Profile
JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record .
Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction , in good standing.
4 to 8+ years of substantive experience advising on complex energy projects , with a focus on offtake agreements .
Deep experience with one or more of the following :
Demonstrated ability to work directly with clients in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong team orientation, adaptability, and business acumen.
A passion for energy innovation, climate solutions, and complex contract work.
Key Responsibilities
Represent buyers, sellers, and developers in a broad array of energy offtake arrangements.
Structure and negotiate sophisticated PPA , REC , storage , and related agreements in both regulated and deregulated markets.
Advise on offtake structures supporting utility-scale and distributed renewable energy projects, energy storage, and emerging technologies like carbon removal and nuclear.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project finance, tax, and regulatory groups, to provide seamless client service.
Provide strategic counsel to clients navigating dynamic regulatory and market landscapes.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
