We are searching for the best talent for a Senior R&D Engineer, Sensor Systems position, to be located in Santa Clara, CA.

We are seeking a Sr. R&D engineer / scientist to join our Sensor Systems team. The Sr. R&D Engineer Sensor Systems will lead electromagnetic tracking sub-system (HW / SW) evaluation, including performance metrics, design verification, and intended use validation, for sensors and sensor systems embedded in robotic endoscopy products. The position will work cross-functionally with instruments & accessories design engineers, capital hardware engineers, test engineers, reliability engineers, software engineers, system integration engineers, quality engineering, and clinical engineers. The Sr R&D engineer Sensor Systems will require a base of broad, multi-disciplinary experience. For those disciplines not previously proficient, the candidate should be willing and driven to master in the position.

You will be responsible for :

• Analyze position-tracking systems for all attributes and considerations
• Design custom sensors for optimal fit, performance, reliability, yield, and cost
• Evaluate low-cost off-the-shelf sensors
• Analyze and lead efforts to solve sensor signal noise
• Innovate to overcome sensing challenges
• Explore and evaluate new technologies
• Develop test methods, execute, and report tests and engineering studies
• Apply statistical and problem-solving analysis methods
• Collaborate cross-team and cross-functionally
• Present technical information, clearly and understandably
• Coach more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities
• Understand and apply Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.

California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is $121,000 - $194,350.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar / performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
