Additional pay is not provided, as this is a part of every teacher's job role. Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (required) Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Secondary English or eligibility to obtain one Previous experience teaching high school English preferred Strong content knowledge and classroom management skills Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and equitable learning outcomes Demonstrated ability to use technology as a tool for learning and student engagement Be part of a school that is redefining innovation in public education Access to high-quality professional development, including instructional technology training Collaborative, mission-driven team environment Opportunity to impact student lives through academics, mentorship, and real-world learning

Position Summary : We are seeking a passionate, student-centered English I Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of English Language Arts, a commitment to educational equity, and a readiness to incorporate technology meaningfully into instruction. This teacher will play a vital role in helping students develop strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills that prepare them for success in school and life.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver high-quality, standards-based English I instruction aligned with Louisiana state standards.
- Utilize formative and summative data to plan and adjust instruction that meets the diverse needs of learners.
- Create engaging, technology-enhanced lessons that support our mission as a Verizon Innovative Learning School.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment focused on student growth and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and analyze student performance.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and the school community.
