Job Title : Mechanical Technician

Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be comfortable using hand tools. Familiarity with engines and supporting systems, such as coolant, DEF components, hoses, and wiring connectors, is necessary. This position supports the Cab Set Team, focusing on 'Cab & Chassis prep' just before setting the cab.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cab and chassis for setting.
  • Use hand and power tools, including drills, screw guns, and caulk guns, effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Assist in general labor tasks as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
  • Capability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally.
  • Physical ability to frequently bend, stoop, squat, and climb ladders, and lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Experience working with electrical components.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly.

    The position is at a fire truck manufacturing facility specializing in chassis and full apparatus design. The company is a leading manufacturer of custom fire apparatus, with expertise in aerials and steel ladders. The workplace includes roughly 200 employees across three plants, creating a collaborative and dynamic environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.20 - $18.20 / hr.
