Pediatric Hospitalist physician job in Florida : Locums Pediatrics Hospitalist Fort Myers, FloridaGreatest Need : Christmas week (seeking 7 consecutive December dates)Additional Dates Needed : 01 / 05 / 2026 01 / 31 / 2026Contract Length : Primarily a 24 month assignmentLocation : Fort Myers, FLSetting : Inpatient Pediatric Floor (No Nursery, No NICU) Key Requirements

  • Proficient and independent in lumbar punctures (required)
  • BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NICA membership / receipts required
  • Pediatric Hospitalist experience
  • Must be comfortable with pediatric admissions, rounding, and coordinating with subspecialists

Schedule & Coverage

  • Day shifts only : 6 : 00 AM 6 : 00 PM (12 hours)
  • No nights
  • No nursery work
  • 12 hours of call within the pediatric floors (ED admissions + transfer center)
  • Coverage needed for days, nights (if willing), and weekends

    • Clinical Duties

  • Inpatient pediatric floor only
  • Rounding on pediatric inpatients
  • Completing admissions
  • Working collaboratively with subspecialists
  • Lumbar punctures required

    • Clinical Environment

  • Average of 26 newborns / day on service (not included in locums workload)
  • Level I Nursery (excluded from locums rotation)
  • 36 med / surg pediatric beds
  • 70 NICU beds (locum will not work in NICU)
  • Team structure :

    • 6 physicians currently

  • Hiring 3 more (team will total 9)
  • Two experienced NPs (nursery NP + pediatric floor NP with 12-patient load)
