Basic Functions

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time faculty (up to 67%) or temporary substitute assignments on an as needed basis.

We accept applications on a continual basis.

Departments or Divisions will refer to the pool of applications on file, as needed, to fill in temporary assignments.

Applicants will remain in the pool for 12 months.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience OR the equivalent.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS : Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment common to mining operations including :

• Inspects, maintains, and repairs all types of mobile equipment and stationary engines.
• Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs per established manufacturer procedures with detailed documentation of defects and corrections.
• Performs metal welding and cutting operations as necessary for maintenance and repair of mobile equipment and stationary engines.
• Safely operates cranes, hoists, and other specialized service equipment in performance of duties.
• Maintains and repairs tires heavy equipment tires.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Follows established procedures for ordering parts and returning cores as necessary.
• Experience teaching technical courses including course planning from an established Course Outline, providing direct instruction, supervising students in a laboratory environment, assessing student progress, providing tutoring and remediation as necessary, and determining pass / fail based on accepted standards from industry and government entities.

NOTE : This is not a Heavy Equipment Operator program at this time.

The number of part-time faculty hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application will be maintained in this part-time faculty pool for 12 months.
