Position Summary :
The Medical Assistant at TLC Vascular plays a critical role in delivering efficient, high-quality clinical care and administrative support. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with vascular providers and clinical staff to ensure the seamless delivery of services and optimal patient experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Clinical Duties :
Greet and room patients, take and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
Prepare patients for vascular procedures and assist with diagnostic testing (e.g., ABI, ultrasound prep).
Assist physicians with in-office procedures, including sterile field preparation and post-procedure care.
Perform EKGs, obtain blood samples (phlebotomy), and manage specimen collection as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Monitor and restock medical supplies in exam and procedure rooms.
Administrative Duties :
Schedule appointments, obtain prior authorizations, and verify insurance information as needed.
Assist with patient intake forms and ensure accurate data entry.
Handle incoming calls, patient messages, and assist with prescription refills under supervision.
Coordinate patient education and provide post-visit instructions.
Compliance and Safety :
Adhere to HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety protocols.
Ensure proper infection control and cleaning procedures are followed in all clinical areas.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training as required.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is a plus.
CPR / BLS Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting; vascular, cardiology, or outpatient procedure clinic experience strongly preferred.
Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., eClinicalWorks or similar system) preferred.
Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Working Conditions :
Fast-paced outpatient clinical environment.
Regular standing, walking, lifting, and use of medical equipment.
May require occasional travel between clinic locations or to support mobile outreach programs.
