Description :

Skorpios Technologies, Inc., an innovator in heterogeneous integration of silicon photonic technology and semiconductor development, is seeking a manufacturing process engineer to work in our device packaging & assembly team. In this role, you will focus on the following :

  • Develop high-volume manufacturing processes related to Silicon Photonic device assembly & packaging
  • Program automated tools to increase yield and production efficiency
  • Hands-on operation of automated tools such as die attach, wire bonders & active aligners to support production
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to tools & devices
  • Support manufacturing team to maintain device assembly & production processes

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Thorough understanding of materials and their application in optical packaging
  • Must have strong software programming skills
  • Familiar with fiber optics products and working with optical fibers
  • Experience with adhesives & epoxies
  • Hands on experience with tools such as wire bonder and optical aligners
  • Skills / Knowledge / Abilities :

  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated track record of success
  • Able to work hard in a dynamic start-up environment
  • Capable of delivering on aggressive goals / timelines
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills

    None

    Work Environment

    80%+ of work is performed in the Fab, which is a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment that requires the use of a full-body gown, over-boots, over-hood, safety glasses, and other PPE. The use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials can be expected. Frequent gowning and de-gowning is required. Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected.

    Physical Demands

    Frequently in a stationary position, often sitting and / or standing for prolonged periods

    Frequently viewing a computer monitor for prolonged periods

    Frequently walking around the Fab for prolonged periods

    Occasionally required to push and / or pull 50+ lbs objects, such as tool components

    Occasionally required to lift 50+ lbs and occasionally carry that amount short distances

    Occasionally required reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, and stoop to access and work on tools in the Fab

    May often require repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and / or fingers

    May require different positions and motions in tight and confined spaces

    Constantly required to wear PPE
