Description
As part of the Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) team within the Mass General Development Office, the Director of Digital Communications is responsible for managing Mass General’s Giving website and digital communications strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital, the Director oversees digital content production and execution across digital channels including social media, email, web and advertising. The Director manages one direct report.
The ideal candidate must be able to draw out compelling stories and distill divergent client input into clear and effective messaging and conceive of communications that advance fundraising priorities and reflect the Mass General brand. The Director consistently aligns content with hospital priorities, campaign messaging and brand standards.
We are looking for someone who is high energy, with superior listening, organizational and management skills; and a demonstrable track record of delivering marketing and communications solutions in a fast-paced, revenue generating organization. The ideal candidate must be results-driven and be able to distill data and metrics into actionable next steps and recommendations while being equally adept at working independently and collaborating as part of a team.

This position requires significant communications or marketing experience, a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of related experience. Experience with content production in both print and digital arenas, medical / science editing and writing and a basic understanding of photography and graphic design is preferred.
