The Inn On Ferry Street

Working with the building's brand new owners, we are looking for a Housekeeping Inspector to join the team at The Inn.

The Inn on Ferry Street comprises 33 distinctive guest rooms across a collection of restored Victorian homes and carriage houses, offering an intimate, heritage-rich experience in the heart of Detroit’s cultural center.

Planned enhancements to the property will include a fine-dining restaurant and courtyard, the activation of flexible meeting spaces, art curation, curated micro retail, and expanded outdoor facilities. Completion of these upgrades is anticipated in late 2026.

About the role

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the hotel’s standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service quality. This position plays a critical role in maintaining guest satisfaction by inspecting cleaned rooms, training room attendants, and ensuring consistent adherence to hotel policies and brand standards.

This position is PART TIME, Saturday and Sunday AM shift only.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Room and Area Inspection

• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas after cleaning to verify that they meet established cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Ensure that all rooms are fully stocked with required amenities and supplies.
• Report and follow up on maintenance issues, damaged items, or missing inventory.
• Approve rooms for guest occupancy once standards are met.
