Mitchell Stores is a family-owned luxury retailer with nine locations across the country and a passion for exceptional service. This role requires in-person presence at Mitchells corporate office in Westport, CT, several days per week.

Job Description :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and curious Data Analyst to join our growing data science team. Reporting to the VP of Data Science, the Data Analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business-including executive leadership, sales, marketing, buying, ecommerce, and programming teams. This role is responsible for driving strategic and operational decision-making by identifying key questions, analyzing relevant data, and delivering clear, actionable insights.

We're looking for someone with strong analytical skills, advanced Excel expertise (SQL skills are a plus), and a passion for problem-solving. You should enjoy working with data to uncover insights that inform and guide business decisions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, write, and maintain SQL queries to extract and manipulate data
  • Build, update, and maintain dashboards and reports in Excel and Tableau
  • Translate complex data sets into clear visualizations and business-friendly insights
  • Provide timely, responsive support to user requests and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all reporting outputs
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis or similar roles using large data sets
  • Strong analytical skills and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical insights to non-technical audiences
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with Tableau or other business intelligence / reporting tools.
