job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPosition is on the Telemetry 4SW unit within an acute care hospital Unit has 32 private beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4 for tele and 1 : 5 for MedSurg patients Patient population includes acute / chronic conditions, post-surgical (bariatrics, total joints), urology, GYN, podiatry, general surgery, stroke, and oncology cases Common care includes set rate Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin drips; no titration required RNs are required to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms using GE monitors Utilizes Cerner EMR; experience preferred Night shifts, 12 hours in length, with requirement to work four weekend shifts per four-week schedule and first to float Travelers may float to other MedSurg / Telemetry units, ICU for MedSurg Tele patients, or the ER for MedSurg Tele holds as required No on-call requirement; may be placed on standby for low census with a 30-minute response time if called in Scrub color is navy blue, including undershirts and jackets Responsibilities include bedside shift reports, intentional hourly rounding, and thorough medication teaching for patients Unit is fast paced with high surgical volume, frequent admissions and discharges Strict attendance policy with high expectations for punctuality and evidence-based practice Warm and supportive staff environment Orientation includes 1–2 shifts with a preceptor Requirement to work at least one major and one minor holiday during the assignment Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS (AHA or APEX) certifications required Ability to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms independently Cerner EMR experience preferred Must provide a copy of driver’s license for consideration Two references required : one supervisor within past 12 months, plus one peer or supervisor from past 3 years Candidates cannot have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the previous year High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
