Must-Have : Candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the employer.

Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius.

A valid driver's license is required.

Description :

This is a stepdown unit with 35 beds.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-5.

Common diagnoses include cardiac conditions, nephrology issues, strokes, diabetes, and patients requiring continuous EEG monitoring.

RNs are required to titrate drips, including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications.

A charge nurse is present on each shift and carries an assignment.

Patient care techs are available with a ratio of 1 : 10 or 2 : 20.

Shifts are from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700.

Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.

Holiday requirements involve working every third holiday.

There is no call or standby requirement.

Floating may be required to medical floors, ICU, or rehab.

The first week consists of onboarding, followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation.

This is a fast-paced floor.

Attributes that contribute to success on this unit include a positive attitude, good communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

RTO (request time off) must be provided upfront, with seven or fewer days off permitted for the 13-week contract.

Additional RTO requests will not be approved after submission.

The cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to four shifts during the assignment.

The charting system utilized is EPIC.
