Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Day Shift (Urgent Need)
Contract Duration : 13 Weeks
Schedule : Sun–Sat (5 days / week, flexible based on facility need)
Shift : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM
Position Summary
We are urgently seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a 13-week assignment in a skilled nursing / rehabilitation setting. The COTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions that promote independence in daily living activities and enhance residents’ functional abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed by the Occupational Therapist.
Provide therapeutic interventions focusing on ADLs, fine motor skills, cognitive skills, strengthening, coordination, and functional mobility.
Document all therapy sessions, progress notes, and resident responses accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, OT, SLP, nursing, and social services.
Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment use, safety techniques, and home programs.
Assist with assessments by gathering data and observing patient performance.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all residents.
Participate in care planning meetings and follow established guidelines and regulatory standards.
Support treatment schedule flexibility to meet patient needs.
Qualifications
Active COTA license in the state of assignment (or ability to obtain).
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current CPR / BLS certification (if required by facility).
Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation preferred.
Strong documentation, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to commit to full contract and weekday / weekend rotation as needed.
