Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool with strong PICU experience and required BLS and PALS certifications in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Work in a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool within a teaching Magnet hospitalFloat between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU as neededPatient ratios are typically 1 : 1 or 1 : 2; may be 1 : 3 when floating to NICUPatients may include all pediatric ages with no age cutoffShift options include four 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30) or day shifts (07 : 00-19 : 30)Weekend work is required every other weekend with potential for block schedulingNo on-call is required for this positionCerner is used for chartingFloat as needed among all critical care pediatric units to support patient care needsPre-employment online modules must be completed prior to orientation and are self-reportedOnly child-friendly, logo-free scrubs are permitted, with no color specificationOne guaranteed holiday off; additional holidays off based on facility needsNo restrictions for local candidates, with no mileage radius requirementsReturn staff must have been separated from prior employment for a minimum of one year to be eligibleNon-smoking facility with zero tolerance for tobacco use anywhere onsiteCompliance documents are due the Monday prior to start dateRequirements
Active DC RN license required or pending DC RN license with proof of application and pending status; active license must be obtained before startMinimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience requiredCurrent BLS and PALS certifications requiredStrong pediatric critical care experience with comfort floating between CVPICU, NICU, and PICUFirst-time travelers are acceptedMust provide professional references upon requestBenefits
