About Us
M&J Enterprises Construction Inc. is a fast-growing underground telecommunications contractor specializing in utility and infrastructure projects. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Accountant / Project Administrator to join our team and support both the financial and administrative success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain vendors, subcontractors, and business partners in QuickBooks Contractor / Desktop.
- Process subcontractor pay applications, verify documentation, and manage approval workflows.
- Prepare and process payroll per job, ensuring accurate allocation of labor costs.
- Track and reconcile job costs using QuickBooks job costing and reporting tools.
- Prepare, process, and document change orders in a timely manner to maintain budget accuracy, secure PO approvals, and support prompt payment.
- Maintain organized project files for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
- Manage TCP barricades and secure permits required for project execution.
- Monitor and process traffic control permit renewals before expiration to prevent delays, fines, or non-compliance.
- Oversee materials and equipment tracking, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and usage logs.
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients regarding billing, compliance, and documentation.
- Support project managers and field teams by aligning financial records, payroll allocations, and material costs with project progress.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and stakeholders for claims management on assigned projects, ensuring proper handling or resolution.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in project accounting, construction accounting, or project administration.Proficiency in QuickBooks Contractor / Desktop (job costing, payroll, billing, reporting).Strong understanding of construction project workflows, permits, and compliance.Knowledge of TCP barricade processes and utility / telecom permitting preferred.Excellent organizational and document control skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, clients, and agencies.
