Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Midland, Texas. This is a long-term contract position within the oil and gas field services industry, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in billing and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional accuracy, and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and process accurate billing for customers and vendors, ensuring all invoices are correctly formatted and verified.
• Review pricing, quantities, and job details to guarantee error-free invoicing.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or payment issues efficiently.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting tasks.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, providing coverage and support as needed.
• Assist with payroll functions, benefits administration, and other HR-related tasks.
• Collaborate with the Controller to learn and support additional accounting processes.
• Perform routine clerical duties to maintain organized and accurate accounting records.
• Work closely with internal teams to streamline billing and accounting operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain high standards of integrity in all accounting activities. Requirements - At least one year of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, tracking, and reconciliation tools.
• Familiarity with billing software and electronic billing systems.
• Ability to handle high-volume data entry with speed and accuracy.
• Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.
• Previous experience with payroll or employee benefits is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
