Job Summary :

The Sr Accountant is responsible for general accounting operations at the plant. This role is responsible for inventory valuation and product costing, accounting and report for capital expenditures, journal entries for month end and year end close, preparing the annual budget and forecast with analysis of departmental spending.

Key Responsibilities :

Inventory Valuation and Product Costing :

Timely costing of new products and recipe changes

Analyze gross margin against expected percentages

Ensure proper inventory valuation using the FIFO method

Fixed Assets and CAPEX :

Maintain an accurate fixed asset register

Place assets into service and process disposals in a timely manner

Ensure consistency in useful lives of similar assets

Work with a cross-functional team to track expenditures against budget and report spend by project

General Accounting Support :

Prepare journal entries for various accruals and intercompany activity

Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of account reconciliations and financial reports.

Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and external regulations.

Assist in the preparation of audits by providing required documentation and support.

Serve as back up for AP / AR invoice processing and payment runs

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics F&O

Experience in public accounting

Experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience with IFRS (or another European accounting framework) i

Working Conditions :

Full-time position. May require occasional evenings and weekends based on business needs.
