Job Summary :

The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative   II (PSR II) serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing professional and compassionate service while collecting high-quality blood samples. This role ensures specimens are prepared accurately for laboratory testing, following established practices and procedures. The PSR II fosters trust, explains procedures, and demonstrates leadership and process excellence, maintaining confidentiality and patient information accuracy. Work assignments may be at a doctor’s office, patient service center, or as business needs dictate. Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, professional environment for patients and staff.
  • Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing per procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm labeling accuracy.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Required Experience :

  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills for diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Nice-to-Have Experience :

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service settings.
  • Keyboard / data entry experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere).
  • Required Skills :

  • Phlebotomy expertise across pediatric and geriatric populations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in high-volume settings.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Superior customer focus and clear communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and cover multiple locations on short notice.
  • Additional Skills :

  • Compliance with company dress code, health and safety, and operational policies.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Adaptability to change and understanding of business operations.
