Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineer Systems 1 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :

  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize work to support project leads.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance.

Systems Engineering, System Lifecycle Management, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include : concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Support the implementation of systems engineering on active NNS programs across the systems lifecycle including requirements development and management, verification and validation, and systems architecting.
  • Support the development and refinement of systems engineering processes, frameworks, and best practices to be applied on future programs.
  • Collaborate with discipline engineering teams, program management, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer needs.
  • Drive the adoption and execution of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies across programs to enhance efficiency and decision making.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :

  • Exposure to implementing systems engineering principles, methods and lifecycle processes on naval, defense or aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with MBSE Tools (Cameo, Cradle, DOORS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of digital engineering practices, data integration and model management processes.
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION :

    Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline from an ABET accredited program.

    School must be accredited.

    HOURS :

    5 / 40 workweek. First Shift 7 : 30AM-4 : 00 PM

    ADDITIONAL :
