Title : Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) (Subcontract at an NRI)

Position Summary : The ISSO deploys, maintains, and supports on-premise services. The role involves providing customer service by responding to requests timely and accurately. Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of clients Intel & cloud servers, backend systems supporting production processes, data storage platforms, and hosted services. Ensures service levels and performance monitoring are maintained effectively.

• The ISSO supports a program, organization, system, or enclaves information assurance program.
• Maintains operational security posture, ensuring policies, standards, and procedures are followed.
• Assists with security management of the information system and performs daily security operations.
• Performs vulnerability / risk assessments to support certification and accreditation.
• Manages changes and assesses security impacts.
• Prepares and reviews documentation such as SSPs, Risk Assessment Reports, C&A packages, and SRTMs.
• Maintains and updates POAMs.
• Works with vendors to troubleshoot hardware, software, network issues; researches and implements solutions.
• Monitors backups, executes restores, troubleshoots failures, and initiates corrective actions.
• Monitors system health, identifies trends, and reports to IT Management.
• Ensures operational stability of supporting technologies and services.
• Leads project deliverables for new or changed technologies.
• Participates in technical integration activities for mergers and acquisitions.
• Completes projects within budget, timelines, and quality standards.
• Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
• Performs cybersecurity compliance inspections and reviews.
• Coordinates with stakeholders to define and maintain security posture.
• Maintains security monitoring, log reviews, and audit updates.
• Prepares security documentation and adheres to IT policies.
• Supports best practices and processes for cybersecurity across sites.

Internal & External Relationships : Collaborates with departments, management, cybersecurity officers, compliance teams, and legal. Coordinates with other ISSOs and government agencies to ensure compliance and best practices.

Candidate Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related; CISSP, CISM, or similar certification; experience with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001; strong network security knowledge; proficiency with security tools; 3-5 years in information security; experience with compliance and risk management; excellent communication skills; familiarity with cloud security practices; ability to work independently and in teams.
