Job Title : Technical Sales Engineer
Location : Little Rock, AR 72211
Job Type : Full-Time
Salary Range : $70,000 - $85,0000 per year
Position Overview
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) to support both presales and postsales processes for low-voltage security solutions including Video Surveillance, Door Access Control, and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities Presale
Collaborate with sales to develop technical designs and system proposals
Attend client meetings to assess needs and contribute to solution development
Create documentation such as system descriptions, technical drawings, equipment lists, scopes of work, and RFP responses
Set up and coordinate site surveys for DAS testing
Design video surveillance layouts using tools like Avigilon SDT and client floorplans (or alternatives when not available)
Postsale
Support project management during installation by communicating technical specs and design intent
Provide technical assistance to the service team as needed
Conduct QA site visits to ensure installation quality and reduce rework
Training
Develop and deliver training materials for internal teams and clients
Present both in-person and virtual technical training sessions
Key Duties
Create drawings, equipment lists, and camera maps for proposals and installations
Coordinate DAS assessments using tools such as Seehawk software and hardware
Maintain detailed and organized documentation with version control
Draft or revise proposal content, including system descriptions and scopes of work
Evaluate risks and suggest improvements in technical designs
Participate in weekly update calls and cross-functional communication
Contribute to inventory oversight and management
Stay up to date with technology trends and certifications relevant to low-voltage systems
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred (e.g., Electrical Engineering, MIS, Computer Science)
2+ years' experience in IP video surveillance / access control design or installation OR IT background with willingness to learn
Familiarity with Avigilon NVRs, ACM, or Alta Cloud solutions is a plus
Experience with Ubiquiti or similar backhaul products preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational, grammar, and math skills
Reliable transportation required
Willingness to obtain NICET IB-PSC certification
