Position description

The University of California, Davis, Eye Center is accepting applications for a highly qualified early or mid-career, full-time, faculty physician in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. The candidate must have an MD or MD / PhD, be board certified, possess or be eligible for licensure in the state of California, completed an AUPO FCC compliant fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery, and have interest and experience in teaching. Responsibilities include : clinical patient care, teaching, university service, and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.

This recruitment is conducted at the assistant and associate professor rank.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

The candidate must have an MD or MD / PhD, be board certified, possess or be eligible for licensure in the state of California, completed an AUPO FCC compliant fellowship by the time of appointment, have the ability to create a clinical or basic research program, have teaching experience, and relevant clinical care experience.

Additional qualifications

(required at time of start)

Completion or expected completion of an an AUPO FCC compliant fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery. Applicable board certification.

Preferred qualifications

(other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Demonstrable commitment to the University's mission of research, teaching, and service.

Award achievements in outstanding clinical care, published work in relation to ophthalmology, and / or grant funding.
