Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS :
Department of Defense TS / SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Ground Terminal (G / T) / Test Engineer on our Redwood Program. As a Ground Terminal Engineer for this effort, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for designing, building, and integrating critical Satellite Communications Ground Systems sites for our customer. This position offers an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technologies that support some of our nation’s core defense and intelligence services and systems.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS :
- Support requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition for subsystem or system elements under the supervision of the G / T Lead Systems Engineer.
- Plans and executes project tasks for activities described by G / T Lead .
- Assists in Developing test plans and test procedures to verify system and subsystem requirements.
- Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE / CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Supports witnessed test events and contributes to the development of test reports.
- Performs Systems Integration activities.
- Coordinates with Systems Engineering leadership and G / T Lead to support test plans and procedure development.
- Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects.
- Applies creative and innovative problem-solving with advanced decision-making skills.
- Maintains regular communication with G / T lead and internal work groups.
- Works under limited supervision.
- Travel may be required during G / T site integration and test activities.
- Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle.
- Assists in developing approaches to solutions.
- Provide G / T sparing posture and recommendations to the ILS team to inform sustainment planning.
