E-Commerce Web Developer Position

This role is part of an initiative to change how products are handled within the digital commerce division of the organization. They are moving from a model in which teams are job-focused, and moving into a more product-focused structure, in which developers work alongside UI experts, Marketing reps, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to respond to customer needs and product opportunities in a more Agile and fast-paced manner. Most of the development work from this team is focused around Shopify, one of the fastest-growing e-commerce tools in the market.

This position will be primarily focused on Front-End development using web tools such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript, as well as occasional back-end work in C# or similar languages. Shopify is a platform-agnostic back-end that allows many applications of all types to be hosted with layered, transactional APIs. You will work with the UI / UX Designer to create crowd-pleasing, beautifully designed pages and then execute the wireframes and mock-ups for the targeted products.

This is a growing division of the company, as they modernize their web development process and continue a focus on digital customer engagement as the online share of commerce increases. Because of this push, this is a highly visible team with solid career growth potential as the team expands.

20% Design – Design code structure and architecture to execute on wire-frames and mock-ups

20% Collaborate – Highly Collaborative, Cross-functional Team. Work closely with product owners / UI Design / Product Design

15% Testing – Unit Testing, User Acceptance Testing

45% Coding – HTML. CSS, Javascript – Occasional C# or Java opportunities.
