Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you will care for a diverse patient population including :
Post-operative craniotomies and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery patients.Patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.Medical overflow cases.As a member of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain experience with the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care practices.

Assess patient needs and plan individualized interventions.Recognize significant changes in patient status and respond appropriately.Prioritize patient safety through proactive strategies.Coordinate discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate care outcomes and participate in shared governance initiatives.Communicate effectively and promote collaboration among healthcare team members.Foster a culture of safety within the unit.Participate in quality improvement initiatives for enhanced patient care.Engage in professional development opportunities.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited nursing program.Experience Required :
At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Ability to provide holistic patient care with a family-focused approach.Recognize and respond to critical situations effectively.Proficient with technology and electronic medical records.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to collaborate and lead within a healthcare team.Physical Requirements :
