About the Role
Western States Lodging and Management is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Vice President of Real Estate to lead our national real estate development and acquisitions platform. This senior leader will oversee all aspects of sourcing, underwriting, acquiring, and developing commercial real estate assets, with a strong focus on senior housing, hospitality, and multifamily.
This role requires a strategic leader with deep transactional experience, exceptional financial acumen, and the ability to guide a high-performing team through complex, multi-market investment initiatives.
Salary will be based on experience in the industry and will include the full range of our company benefits , including Health, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, HSA, and 401k with a 4% company match.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary real estate team, including Vice Presidents of Senior Housing and Hospitality Investments, the Head of Construction, Analysts, and Associates.
- Partner with the Chief Investment Officer and executive team to define and execute the national investment and development strategy.
- Oversee deal flow, capital deployment goals, and portfolio growth objectives across multiple markets and asset classes.
- Work closely with business development and revenue teams to align investment strategies with market demand and organizational goals.
Deal Sourcing & Underwriting
Source new real estate acquisition and development opportunities that meet strategic and financial criteria.Direct financial underwriting, investment modeling, and risk assessments to ensure disciplined and accurate decision-making.Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, lenders, developers, investors, and industry partners to support long-term pipeline expansion.Transaction Management & Due Diligence
Lead all due diligence activities, including market research, zoning and entitlements, environmental review, design feasibility, and financial audits.Coordinate legal, financial, and operational teams through purchase agreements, joint venture structuring, and financing negotiations.Ensure timely, smooth, and successful closings in alignment with capital partners and internal executives.Development Oversight
Oversee the full development lifecycle-concept, design, budgeting, construction, and delivery.Manage the Head of Construction to ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.Provide strategic guidance on feasibility, scope modifications, and risk mitigation throughout development.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field required; MBA strongly preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in commercial real estate acquisitions and development.Significant background in senior housing, hospitality, or multifamily assets.Demonstrated success in sourcing, structuring, and closing complex real estate transactions.Deep expertise in financial modeling, capital markets, due diligence processes, and construction oversight.Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
