Pay Information $2,110 per week About The Position Job Title : Float Pool Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Medical Surgical Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12H Days Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : 2 years License : Illinois license required Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : - EPIC experience - Local candidates accepted within 20-50 miles Description : The Float Pool Registered Nurse will provide care in various medical surgical units. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 5-6 in Med-Surg and 1 : 5 in IMCU. No first-time travelers will be considered for the float pool. Two or more years of nursing experience is required. Float experience is preferred. Common diagnoses include acute surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric respiratory illnesses. Post-surgical care for patients with CHF and chest pain will be part of the responsibilities. The nurse may assist with respiratory treatments, although respiratory therapists primarily manage ventilators. Charting is done using an electronic medical record system. Weekend and holiday shifts will be necessary, with every other required. The nurse will report for assignment no more than one hour before their shift. Scrub colors will be Caribbean blue. Orientation will consist of one 12-hour shift in a designated unit.
