UPMC is hiring a Casual Pediatric Sonographer to join the team at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh!
In this role, you'll enjoy the opportunity to grow professionally in a supportive, patient-focused environment. Our casual sonographers are required to work a minimum of one shift per week and participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including overnight Saturday coverage.
Daylight weekend shifts may also be scheduled to support vacation coverage or time-off requests for core weekend team members. In addition, all sonographers select holiday shifts annually to ensure balanced coverage.

Responsibilities :
Covers call and off-shifts on a rotational basis.
Performs a variety of technical ultrasound procedures to assist in a patient's medical diagnosis.
Displays knowledge of equipment operations, anatomy, and scanning techniques resulting in optimized image data / documentation.
Documents and considers patient history, laboratory data, and physical findings.
Ensures all exams are properly coded and networked through appropriate systems, and ensures all charges are correct for exams performed.
Assists with training staff, student sonographers, and physicians.
May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and / or equipment.
Demonstrates ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required, or RDMS registered.
2 years of ultrasound experience preferred.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :
RDMS Registered or registry eligible.
Must have completed Physics portion of registry.
Must obtain RDMS in Pediatric Ultrasound within 24 months of hire date.
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearances with renewal
CPR or BLS preferred.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
