Job Title : Environmental Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing air permit applications and compliance reports, evaluating facility emissions, and overseeing environmental regulatory audits. You will work closely with subcontractors and conduct research projects to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare air permit applications and compliance reports using the US EPA’s electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool.
- Evaluate facility emissions for compliance with Area Source, State Facility, and Title V classifications, and generate Annual Emission Statements.
- Perform air dispersion modeling using US EPA-approved programs, such as AERMOD.
- Oversee facility environmental regulatory audits and emissions performance testing.
- Prepare NOx monitoring and compliance plans, and recommend equipment or plant modifications.
- Certify installations of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) or develop alternative systems like Predictive Emissions Monitoring Systems (PEMS).
- Assist with Environmental Justice Policy (EJP) and Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) compliance requirements.
- Manage stormwater discharge monitoring and hazardous waste disposal.
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure quality work and timely project completion.
- Conduct research projects and prepare responses to requests for quotation (RFQ) and requests for proposal (RFP).
Essential Skills
1-3 years of experience in environmental engineering and compliance.Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.Hands-on knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC and commissioning practices.Experience with air regulations, monitoring techniques, and pollution control strategies.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Strong knowledge of Air Permitting and Title V permits.Valid US driver's license and willingness to travel.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with NYC DOB systems such as DOB NOW, BIS, and eFiling.Knowledge of NYC Local Laws 84, 87, and / or 97.Experience performing field inspections, including ASME boiler tests, EPA Method 9, and chiller / cooling tower inspections.Work Environment
The position is based in our White Plains office or at job site locations. The typical work schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM, with an hour for lunch. We offer a collaborative environment with a staff eager to train and provide immediate client exposure. The role offers significant autonomy and the potential for early-stage management opportunities. We do not require a lot of overtime work and offer a 10% profit share of salary.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86 / hr.
