14 views Job Description Marathon Staffing is looking for General laborers to work at a global lumber yard with potential for growth. A general laborer working at a lumber yard is responsible for performing various physical tasks to support the operations of the yard. Their primary duties include : 1. Material Handling : Loading and unloading lumber and other building materials from trucks, using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment. They may also assist in organizing and stacking materials in designated areas. 2. Inventory Management : Keeping track of inventory levels, ensuring accurate counts, and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor. They may also assist in conducting regular inventory audits. 3. Order Fulfillment : Picking and packing lumber and other materials based on customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. They may also assist in preparing materials for delivery or pickup. 4. Yard Maintenance : Maintaining a clean and organized work environment by sweeping, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials properly. They may also assist in maintaining equipment and tools in good working condition. 5. Customer Service : Assisting customers in locating and selecting materials, providing information about products, and addressing any concerns or inquiries. They may also assist in loading customer vehicles and ensuring safe transportation of materials. 6. Safety Compliance : Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. They may also participate in safety training programs and report any potential hazards or incidents to the supervisor. 7. Teamwork : Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow. They may assist in training new employees and providing support as needed. 8.
