Purpose of the Position :
Psychology Department Assistants support the day-to-day functioning of the Psychology Department, tutor students, and assist professors with other course- or research-related tasks.
Qualifications for Position :
- Full-time student
- Psychology major or minor
- At least sophomore status
Expected Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform course-related administrative tasks for professorsAssist psychology faculty with research tasks (e.g., acquiring sources, entering data, coding)Maintain confidentiality regarding all student grades, assignments, and research participationMaintain a clean and welcoming space in the Psychology CommonsTutor students in Introductory Psychology, Statistics, and other courses as appropriateSkills Workers may Develop or Strengthen in this Position :
Data coding and analysisOrganization, confidentiality, responsibility, hospitalityFamiliarity with the research process in psychologyTeaching and tutoring skillsResume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed
