As a School-Based Support Specialist, you will provide intensive outpatient case management and individualized behavioral health interventions to youth within school settings. Your work will promote recovery, resilience, and academic achievement by coordinating care with families, schools, and community partners. Services are primarily delivered on school premises during school hours, with additional support provided in homes and the community as needed.

Key Responsibilities :
Deliver behavioral health interventions aligned with individualized treatment goals in school-based settingsSupport students in developing coping strategies, social-emotional skills, and daily life functioningCoordinate care with schools, families, community partners, and other service providersManage a caseload, ensuring timely documentation and person-centered service deliveryProvide crisis intervention and follow-up, including outreach for missed appointmentsConduct home visits and community outreach to support youth and family engagementParticipate in quality assurance, data collection, and compliance activitiesEngage in ongoing professional development, supervision, and performance evaluationsAdapt to evolving student needs and contribute to program goals with flexibility and collaborationEducation and / or Experience Qualifications :
Must meet one of the following :
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related human services fieldBachelor's degree in an unrelated field with two years of related behavioral health experienceAny four-year combination of higher education and two years of qualifying experienceAssociate's degree in applied science in behavioral health supportFour years of full-time qualifying experience in the fieldQualifying experience includes providing one-on-one or group services focused on recovery / resiliency, teaching coping skills, supporting school / community / employment functioning, and implementing treatment plan objectives.Required License / Certification :
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving recordCurrent auto insuranceSuccessful completion of background checks (criminal record, driving record, abuse / neglect, fingerprint)Additional Qualifications :
Knowledge of case management, rehabilitation methods, and treatment planning in behavioral healthUnderstanding of challenges faced by individuals with behavioral health conditionsFamiliarity with ethical, legal, and procedural standards in behavioral healthStrong relationship-building skills with youth, families, schools, and providersEffective communication skills, including documentation and verbal de-escalationAbility to prioritize tasks, manage time, and coordinate services across agenciesProficiency with electronic health records and office softwareSelf-motivated with a commitment to high-quality, client-centered careAbility to respond appropriately in crisis situations and maintain professional boundariesCapacity to work independently while remaining accountable to supervision and agency standardsPosition Perks & Benefits :
