We are seeking a friendly, organized and detail oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential to the coordination of monthly DME orders and ensuring that all communication is routed efficiently to the appropriate departments.

As a vital part of our team, the Medical Receptionist  plays a key role in delivering a positive patient experience through professionalism, efficiency, and compassionate communication. This position requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A successful candidate will be dependable, patient-focused, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls and route them to the appropriate team (pharmacy, DME, billing, etc.)
  • Make outbound calls to patients, caregivers, and facilities to coordinate monthly DME orders
  • Confirm supply needs, delivery dates, and insurance information with patients
  • Document all communications and updates accurately in the patient’s chart / system
  • Ensure patient records are current and complete with necessary authorizations or documentation
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor with all patient interactions
  • Collaborate closely with DME staff and pharmacy team to ensure seamless service
  • Perform general front desk duties as needed, including faxing, scanning, and filing

Qualifications

  • Education :  High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with computers and EHR / EMR systems (training provided)
  • Detail-oriented and dependable
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) or previous experience in a medical office / pharmacy / DME setting a plus
