Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead technical resource on mid / high complexity Power Tool New Product Development projects.
• Provide clear technical information to cross functional teammates, Project Leaders and Global Engineering teams, facilitating trade-off decisions.
• Establish test regimens for components and assemblies within project scope with minimal guidance; deliver complete data analysis to support design recommendations.
• Serve as a technical resource and provide consultation / mentorship to engineering and non-engineering teammates alike.
• Apply first principles to create free body diagrams and develop static and / or dynamic models of new systems, leading the design analytically and supporting decision-making through rigorous engineering analysis.
• Perform mechanical stress analysis on linear and non-linear systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Execute tolerance stack analyses (statistical and geometric preferred).
• Design and analyze gear-driven systems and mechanisms, including sound and vibration / response of dynamic systems.
• Demonstrate system-level thinking-maintaining a holistic view of how interdisciplinary design decisions affect user needs and project delivery.
• Collaborate proactively with interdisciplinary peers to plan for and address issues that could impact schedule, cost, performance, or delivery of user needs.
• Create and execute plans to inform early-stage development using both empirical and analytical methods; develop structured approaches to investigate root cause and troubleshoot designs under cost, schedule, performance, and other constraints.
• Operate effectively in a high-paced and dynamic development environment.
• Motivate and support learning-actively seek opportunities to learn and teach others about new discoveries and best practices.
