Starting Wage : $19.75 - $28.80, depending on experience
Farwest Steel Reinforcing’s Operations Department seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as Equipment Operator. In this role, you will safely and efficiently operate and maintain fabrication and material handling equipment as part of a collaborative team, with a shared commitment to producing high-quality rebar products that meet customer specifications. This role focuses on maximizing machine capabilities, optimizing material usage, and supporting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and skill development within the team.
Key responsibilities for this role include :
Operate fabrication and material handling equipment efficiently and accurately, ensuring all rebar products meet specified tolerances and quality standards.Maximize machine capabilities and material utilization to support cost-effective production.Perform and document routine preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment and report any equipment defects or irregularities.Promote a safe, productive work environment by actively participating in safety meetings and team discussions, and by looking out for the well-being of fellow team members.Support a team-oriented environment by sharing knowledge and training co-workers on production processes.Assist in the development of other machine operators with a focus on safety, efficiency, and product quality.Remain open to learning and training opportunities, with the willingness to grow within the role.Reliable, be ready to work on time daily.Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required.Previous experience operating machinery in a warehouse or industrial setting preferred.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with team members.Basic math skills and the ability to accurately use a standard English tape measure.Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance or assembly is a plus.Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the role.Ability to work in a physically active environment, including standing, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods.
