Relief Machine Operator

Job Summary :

Rimports is currently seeking an individual for the role of a Relief Machine Operator at our Provo, Utah location.

The Relief Machine Operator will ensue that the machine runs efficiently, fills clam shells correctly, is well maintained, and remains clean with the ability to troubleshoot potential problems. The Relief Machine Operator also communicates with Quality Control, Labelers, Mixers, and Back-Up Mixers to ensure consistency, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the production process.

This role will report to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Functions :

  • Perform basic maintenance on machines & notify Supervisor when parts or help is needed
  • Verify all tools are accounted for & in their proper place; Notify maintenance if tools are missing or need to be replaced
  • Must certify in-house to operate forklifts & walkie ridies competently
  • Constantly monitor fill levels & quality of product being poured; Adjust fill levels as necessary & replace O-rings as needed
  • Ensure clam shells are being pulled by the machine correctly & consistently
  • Clean sensors as needed
  • Keep chain clean; Use silicone spray every other day; Do not use oil on the chain
  • Clean plastic areas with silicone spray to keep them lubricated
  • Keep belt clean by scrapping off wax from belt; Also keep belt oiled
  • Thoroughly clean tanks between fragrances & colors; Ensure a smooth transition when switching fragrances & throughout shift changes
  • Watch inside belt to ensure product does not roll back & jam the belt
  • Break down & stack boxes
  • Replace cardboard under machine as time permits
  • Ensure correct labels are being used with product being poured
  • Be cautious of vehicles & people moving throughout work area
  • Report all safety concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Be aware of precautions needed when dealing with chemicals used in the production process; Be aware of proper clean up procedures for spills
  • Periodically fill-in for Machine Operators when needed
  • Keep work area clean & uncluttered. Clean buckets as needed; Empty garbage; Scrape wax off machine & floors at least once daily
  • Report all safety concerns to Supervisor immediately
  • Must have ability to rotate shifts as needed
  • Standing, bending, twisting, pushing & pulling repeatedly throughout a work shift
  • Physically able to actively participate in a fast-paced production environment daily
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, lifting 30 pounds regularly
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

  • Qualifications (Education, Experience, Program knowledge) :

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Previously proved knowledge by holding Relief Machine Operator position
  • Preferred Qualifications (if applicable) :

  • Strong knowledge of production & product lines
  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • Additional Eligibility Requirements :

    Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a pre-employment drug test.

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :

    Full-time & non-exempt. The hours & days for this position vary depending on shift. Overtime is required yet is infrequent.

    Travel (if applicable) :

    This position has no travel requirements.

    Schedule : Thursday-Saturday 5 : 00am-5 : 30pm

    Pay : $16.00 / hour
