Social Services Specialist
Provides holistic social services and counseling support to community victims adversely impacted by the community mass violence event and its aftermath. Coordinates resource deployment for victim and victim families and serves as liaison between victims and community resource centers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as primary contact for individuals and families victimized by the mass violence event and its aftermath. Provides victims and victim families with facilitated access to multi-disciplinary, holistic, 360 degree wrap around mental, medical, behavioral and legal services coordinating with appropriate resource partners.
Develop, implement, and manage the resiliency communications strategy including program outreach using multiple channels. This position is also responsible for developing and communicating resources for victims and their families including information about financial resources, and panels and webinars.
Establish relationships with service agencies for optimal understanding as to what is provided, to whom and for what purpose and maintain a resource listing and distribute information as appropriate.
Support programming for victims and the community through developing and conducting programs for victims and the community.
Document the Resiliency Division outcomes and referrals. Maintains detailed records and statistics on people served and services provided. Provides status reports and informed recommendations to the City Manager's office on the success of Community wide resiliency programs and related services.
Provide social services to individuals by providing support to the Police Department Social Worker and the Senior Services Social Services Specialist.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in social work, counseling, behavioral science, social science or related discipline. A Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work or related discipline strongly preferred.
Three to five years' experience in the field of social work, counseling, or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Three years' experience providing direct assistance within victim services environment strongly preferred.
Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification required. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or certification strongly preferred. Clinical Certified Trauma Professional or Trauma Informed Specialty strongly preferred.
Supplemental Information
Most work activities are conducted in an office environment and include significant staff and public contact, sometimes involving individuals exhibiting high levels of stress or emotion. This position requires occasional evening work and occasional operation of an automobile to travel between locations, including, but not limited to : home visits and accompanying services. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Office equipment including a computer with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and copier, printer, scanner, fax machine, and phone.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, read computer monitor and printed and handwritten documents and forms; ability to operate keyboard and mouse to enter information into computer records. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move objects up to 50 pounds.
